Academy of Scholars
Adviser: Jennifer Theel
The Academy of Scholars prepares selected academically achieving seniors and juniors to compete successfully for valuable scholarships at accredited universities. Participants are selected based on class rank, grade point average, and leadership skills. AOS members attend monthly enrichment seminars on a variety of topics relating to college applications, selection, and success.

The mission of the art club is to provide members with an opportunity to express their individuality through the creation of artwork and give back to our community, school, and others, using our talents and gifts in unique ways. There is an interest meeting in room 118 October 24, 2024 after school.

CPHS Esports

Are you interested in Esports and gaming? CPHS Gaming Hawks is just for you! CPHS competes locally and nationally across multiple games and platforms. Dominate the competition using teamwork and strategy, while competing in regional and national tournaments!

Forensics
Advisors: Michelle Boswell, Evelyn Stackley, and Madison Boswell
Students compete in speech and debate tournaments all across North Carolina and the United States. Students work together as a team to learn skills in public speaking, dramatic performance, and speech writing. Forensics believes in fostering student voices and encourages all students to use those voices for their passions.

Journalism

The CPHS newspaper, “The Hawk’s Eye,” is created by our school’s Journalism class. Students research, interview, write, and edit articles that cover topics that are relevant to our student body. We aim to publish a student-led, tangible, printed newspaper. Members fulfill their creative needs through writing, illustration, graphic design, etc.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is more than just an honor roll. The Honor Society chapter establishes rules for membership that are based on a student’s outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Science Olympiad

Student2Student (S2S)

Established in 2004, Student 2 Student® (S2S™) is a high school level student program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment, support academic excellence, and ease transitions. We will focus on student-led activities that help build an inclusive school community.

Student Government Association
Advisors: Mrs. McKethan & Ms. Rios
The Student Government Association of CPHS serves as the liaison between the student body and the administration. Through the SGA, students may express their opinions and participate in the management of school enterprises. The student government representatives recognize this responsibility and work diligently to represent the student body. The SGA promotes leadership, initiative, and self-motivation among its members.
